Thinking about your menu spontaneously, which drink comes to your mind first and why?
The drink that comes to mind is The Peligroso, it is not necessarily the most popular of our cocktails, being the Lavender Mule the most popular. But The Peligroso has an amazing complexity in the combination of italian amaros and caribbean sour and it showcases the powerful expressions of Puerto Rican aged rum.
What makes the location of your bar special?
La Factoria is located in la Calle San Sebastían’s corner of Calle San José. Since the late 50’s Hijos de Borinquen (the original name of the bar) was a hub of cultural expression and a celebration of the artists and bohemian characteristics of the Old San Juan Community. We feel very honored and proud to be serving our drinks in such an iconic location. That is the reason why we never took out the sign of the legendary Hijos de Borinquén (which means sons of borinquen, indigenous word for the island).
Why would you recommend a visit to your bar?
It is all about the energy, the flavor, the vibrancy and the experience in general that La Factoria emulates. It is something that you just have to live, feel and experience for yourself.
